POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking an experienced Field Mechanic / Heavy Equipment Mechanic to support a construction equipment fleet. This position performs diagnostics, preventive maintenance, and repairs on a variety of equipment in both field and shop environments. The mechanic will work closely with the Equipment Manager to keep equipment safe, reliable, and available for field operations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Diagnose mechanical and operational issues by inspecting and operating equipment.
• Perform field and shop repairs on heavy construction equipment and related fleet assets.
• Complete preventive maintenance and routine service as needed.
• Troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, emissions, diesel, and gasoline systems.
• Communicate repair status, parts needs, and equipment condition to the Equipment Manager.
• Assist other mechanics and field personnel with repair-related tasks and projects.
• Complete work orders, timecards, and required maintenance documentation.Follow established safe-work practices and maintain a clean, organized service truck and work area.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum 5 years of experience working on heavy equipment.
• Strong working knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, emissions, diesel, and gasoline systems.
• Ability to diagnose and repair equipment independently in field and shop settings.
• Must provide personal mechanic tools; specialty tools will be provided.
• CDL preferred, but not required.
• Must be able to pass an MVR check, drug screen, and background check.

COMPENSATION \- $35 / hr. + DOE

COMPENSATION

Target starting compensation is approximately $35/hr+, depending on experience and technical depth. Higher compensation may be considered for a strong field mechanic with broad heavy-equipment diagnostic and repair experience.
