    Summary: The SBA Credit Analyst is responsible for analyzing and risk-assessing credit applications for SBA loans to ensure compliance with the Company’s credit risk management strategy, the Company’s credit policy, and the SBA loan programs. Prior knowledge of commercial lending and SBA lending processes is not required but preferred.

    The ideal candidate will have at least 1 year of Government Guaranteed Lending experience.

    Job Requirements:

    • Basic knowledge of the SOP and the SBA 7(a) Loan Programs.
    • Basic understanding of cash flow analysis, ratio analysis, and projections as well as documentation. Discounted collateral calculation, basic balance sheet ratio analysis, and formal credit training a plus.
    • Motivated and organized self-starter with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities
    • Must be analytical and willing to learn how to conduct comprehensive financial analysis on companies of diverse industries and sizes with consideration of market trends credit/interest rates, economic conditions, and other factors
    • Motivated and well-organized self-starter with strong attention to detail and the ability to multi-task
    • Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines and work well under pressure
    • Ability to remain adaptable and resilient to all situations while maintaining an optimistic outlook
    • Strong ethical character and ability to handle highly confidential information and financial matters
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Should be comfortable communicating with internal and external business partners
    • True team attitude where you are willing to jump in and help anywhere needed within the organization
    • Intermediate level proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and related software applications (nCino is a plus)
    • Must complete all required training, including Bank Secrecy Act/Anti-money Laundering training, suitable to his or her position within the bank
    • Spread and analyze financial statements, tax returns, personal financial statements, financial projections, relevant information from business plans into spreadsheet templates to determine cash flow and to make a recommendation regarding the creditworthiness of the loan.
    • With manager’s (or select senior underwriter) oversight, prepare an issues list which could include missing documents and clarification questions.
    • Maintain and apply a thorough understanding of SBA eligibility and all necessary business practices to ensure the submission of accurate and complete loan application packages
    • Timely communication through the credit process with business development personnel, borrower, closer, and other applicable team members.
    • Complete credit package, including credit memo and financial spreads, and submit to the Underwriting Team Lead for review
    • Complete tax verifications of sellers and borrowers as requested.
    • Complete assigned re-approval loan presentations and change memos.
    • Complete Adverse Action requirements.
    • Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Underwriting Team Lead.

    Education Requirements: Bachelor’s degree, or higher, in business administration, finance, accounting or economics preferred.

    Physical Requirements:

    Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

    Must be able to lift to 25 pounds at times.

    Travel as required for in-person meetings and/or training.
