    Our direct client has a new opening for a Desktop Support Technologies Specialist 120934

    This position is 12 months, with the option of extension, and is in Augusta, Maine.

    Job Description:

    Years of Relevant Experience: 3-5 years in the desired environment

    Preferred Education: 4-year college degree or equivalent experience

    Role Description:

    All roles specified in CTS1 plus the following:

    • Provide training, guidance, support, and direction to junior interns and contractors assigned to your area of responsibility

    • Participate in meetings and projects as assigned

    • Provide advanced technical support for desktops, laptops, printers, software, and other hardware connected to a user's device.

    • Test and evaluate software and hardware products to determine applicability and value to agency operations.

    • Actively analyze and evaluate emerging software and hardware technologies/standards.

    • Develop appropriate functional and usability standards for the environments.

    • Assist in planning and implementing shared software, such as operating systems, configuration management tools, application and development tools, testing tools, etc.

    • Assist in planning and coordinating testing changes, upgrades, and new and standard products, ensuring systems operate correctly in current and future environments.

    • Anticipate, identify, track, and resolve issues and risks affecting own work. Develop contingency plans as necessary.

    • Analyze the functional and/or technical impact of new product releases.

    • Meet with department heads, managers, supervisors, vendors, and others, to solicit cooperation and resolve problems.

    • Determine time estimates and schedule for own work and subordinate contractors/interns to resolve issues in a timely manner.

    • Identify and track issues, risks, and action items.
