This position is for 12+ months, with option of extension, and will be worked in remotely (must work EST business hours) and then on-site in Raleigh, NC at the client’s discretion once they open their offices.

    Description:

    Our client requires the services of a senior project manager to manage the planning and implementation of an EHR implementation project for the Division of State Operated Healthcare Facilities. This project management role will work with other EHR project managers and executive leadership team, multiple internal and external stakeholders, and selected vendor(s) to analyze, plan, and implement the clinical components required for an Epic EHR system. This position will be responsible for working with senior-level business executives, IT management and personnel, business program resources and vendor staff to define and execute requirements and manage stakeholder expectations. This position will manage the day-to-day activities for the assigned portion of the project and complete all input into overall EHR program reporting and the State's Project Portfolio Tool (MS Project Server) as needed.

    Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

    • Developing and maintaining detailed project schedule, budget and monitoring expenditures

    • Identifying quantitative and qualitative benefits, including cost savings.

    • Developing and maintaining all required project management artifacts following State, DHHS methodologies

    • Managing scope, resources, timelines, costs/budget, quality, and communications to meet the goals of the State and EHR program

    • Leading and performing hands-on analysis of the business and technical environments

    • Assisting with development of procurement documents related to the assigned EHR scope

    • Working with vendors to manage contract deliverables, oversee all vendor activities to ensure that all the milestones are met

    • Ensuring that project plans and schedules are established and maintained, ensuring that deliverables are completed timely and accurately

    • Assure accurate reporting to project governance, delivering formal presentations, coordinating with all stakeholders and ensuring that appropriate project controls are instituted

    • Serving as an IT project liaison to the business client of assigned EHR scope

    • Working with business stakeholders to develop necessary project management, change management, risk management, user acceptance testing, rollout, and training plans

    • Managing the work of the technical team composed of state employees, contractors, and vendor personnel.

    • Working with technical team to ensure technical readiness during implementation and supervising implementation activities

    • Developing and maintaining all required State CIO and PMO project documentation

    Required/Desired Skills:

    Experience working on IT projects to deliver and/or enhance Electronic Health Record systems. - Required - 5 Years

    Experience working on healthcare revenue cycle management technology projects - Required - 3 Years

    Ability to create simple to complex project plans, timelines and work breakdown structures using project management tools (Microsoft Project) - Required - 7 Years

    Very strong work ethic and ability to work at a fast pace to meet aggressive mandated timelines - Required - 7 Years

    Must have strategic planning skills with good understanding of roadmap development - Required - 5 Years

    Capable of leading effective project meetings that are tailored to the audience - Required - 7 Years
