Position Description
As we transition our IT Service Management platform from Cherwell to ServiceNow, this position will develop and deploy custom applications and enhancements within the ServiceNow platform using the App Engine toolset. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills in ServiceNow application development coupled with the ability to understand business requirements and develop solutions that improve operational efficiency.
Responsibilities include
-Gather and analyze business and technical requirements for new ServiceNow applications and enhancements
-Design, develop, test and implement custom applications and components using ServiceNow App Engine
-Leverage ServiceNow development tools like Studio, Script Debugger, Application Navigator
-Write efficient client-side and server-side scripts using ServiceNow's scripting languages
-Build data models, business rules, client scripts, UI policies and other application elements
-Integrate ServiceNow with other systems/databases via web services, import sets etc.
-Ensure application security, performance and maintainability
-Create technical documentation for deployed applications
Skills Required
Proficient in ServiceNow scripting languages - JavaScript, AngularJS, ACLs
Strong understanding of ServiceNow architecture, data models, core applications (Incident, Change, Problem etc.)
Expertise in using ServiceNow development tools - Studio, Application Navigator, Script Debugger
Experience with UI development using Service Portal, Angular frameworks
Ability to design efficient data models, business rules, client scripts, UI policies
Knowledge of integrating ServiceNow with other systems via Web Services, Data Sources
Excellent problem-solving, analytical and debugging skills
Proven ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications
Familiarity with ITIL processes and ServiceNow ITSM applications
Strong collaboration and communication skills to work cross-functionally

Experience Required
Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience developing custom applications and functionality within the ServiceNow platform using App Engine
Minimum 5 years of experience in all phases of the ServiceNow application development lifecycle including design, build, test, and deployment.
