LU-Project Manager - Jefferson City, MO
** TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
This position is mostly remote with occasional on-site collaboration meetings in Jefferson City, MO. Travel to client location in Jefferson City, MO is not reimbursed by the client.
However as a condition of the grant, Missouri is required to attend 5 to 10 mandatory onsite meetings, which are out of state, throughout the grant period. Some, if not all, may require the Project Manager to travel to these meeting location(s) and discuss the project as required by the grant. Client WILL cover the cost of travel and expenses for the mandatory onsite meetings that are out of state required by the conditions of the grant.
Candidate must work CST business hours. **
Our direct client has an opening for a Project Manager position # 126093. This position is for 18-24+ months, with option of extension, and will be worked mostly remote and some on-site meetings in Jefferson City, MO and 5-10 out of state meetings in accordance with the requirements of the Grant (Candidate must work CST business hours).

Job Description:
Essential Functions
• Collaborates with Project Management Team to set and manage timelines, milestones, deliverables, change management, issue tracking and duties essential to the success of the project
• Create and update project artifacts such as statement of work, RFP, RFI, Project Plan, etc.
• Provides technical expertise and direction to successfully meet information technology objectives and deadlines
• Monitors, communicates and tracks progress of the vendor’s project schedule to ensure the DESE project team’s core activities align with vendor timeline/requirements
• Ensures project deadlines are met by assigning tasks, monitoring progress and handling issues/roadblocks for the DESE project team
• Coordinates with key stakeholders to facilitate timely communication and knowledge transfer across the organization
• Provides weekly status updates and/or presentations to the DESE Executive Steering Committee
• Collaborates with other state agencies who are also exploring a statewide longitudinal system and CEDS data warehouse.
Additional Responsibilities
• Minimum of 3 years of experience managing data systems projects in a fast-paced environment
• Familiarity with database architecture and data elements; specifically normalizing databases by identifying common data elements from disparate data systems that align with project needs
• Experience planning, managing and delivering large, cross-functional projects on time and on budget
• Consistent track record of leading projects with the ability to execute project level activities and tasks according to project scope
• Strong communication and time-management skills
• Excellent presentation skills, including experience presenting to senior leadership
• Expert knowledge using: Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft Projects
• Minimal travel may be required to support the project; this consists of roughly 5 to 10 meetings that may require travel out of state.
