Lead Financial Strategy for a Growing Manufacturing Company
Are you a CPA with strong Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) experience in manufacturing? Do you enjoy partnering with executive leadership to influence business strategy, profitability, and operational performance?
We're seeking an experienced Financial Planning & Analysis Manager (FP&A Manager) to join a rapidly growing, private equity-backed manufacturing company in Champaign, Illinois. Reporting directly to the CFO, you'll play a key leadership role driving financial performance, improving operational efficiency, and supporting strategic growth initiatives.
This is a highly visible position with direct exposure to senior leadership, board reporting, and business decision-making.
What You'll Do
- Lead the company's annual budgeting, forecasting, and long-range financial planning process
- Develop financial models to support strategic initiatives and capital investments
- Analyze manufacturing costs, product margins, inventory, labor, and operational performance
- Identify opportunities to improve profitability through cost analysis and financial insights
- Prepare executive, board, and lender reporting packages
- Partner with operations, sales, engineering, and leadership to support business decisions
- Oversee project estimating, pricing analysis, and costing to improve project profitability
- Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) across the business
- Drive continuous improvement in financial reporting, forecasting accuracy, and business analytics
Qualifications
- CPA required
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 5+ years of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) experience
- Manufacturing industry experience required
- Strong expertise in manufacturing costing, standard costing, variance analysis, and margin analysis
- Advanced financial modeling and forecasting skills
- Experience partnering with executive leadership and operational teams
- Excellent analytical, communication, and presentation skills
- Experience with ERP systems and advanced Excel
- Experience working in a private equity (PE)-backed company is a plus
