    Job Description

    PURPOSE:  The Compliance and Audit Coordinator is responsible for supporting the Compliance Officer in ensuring compliance with all regulations and guidelines in accordance with federal and state banking laws. This position is also responsible for the day-to-day monitoring of the Credit Union's BSA/AML regulatory compliance program and assists with other regulatory compliance matters including ongoing compliance monitoring and review, policy and procedure implementation and review and responding to legislative/regulatory developments pertaining to the Credit Union as they arise. The Compliance and Audit Coordinator will assist the Compliance Officer and act as the Credit Unions Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) Assistant.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:  The following duties are not intended to serve as a comprehensive list of all duties required in this position.     ·        Assist the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) Officer in the daily reviews of transaction reports to ensure proper reporting to comply with the Bank Secrecy Act.

    ·        Review, queue and work cases identified in the Credit Union’s BSA/AML software.  Download, save and upload 314(a) request to BSA/AML software.

    ·        Research and monitor member accounts for suspicious activity.

    ·        Review reports from the credit union’s core processor.

    ·        Work Fraud, Anti-Money Laundering Alerts (FRAML) and BSA/AML Alerts weekly.

    ·        Audit loan data maintenance reports, review potential hits on OFAC reports, complete, review and file Currency Transaction Reports (CRT), monetary instruments reports, audit wire journal report, new account activity report monthly.

    ·        Occasionally the Compliance and Audit Coordinator may be assigned other duties including, but not limited to, account and activity monitoring, assisting in quarterly branch control functions, research and investigation, and high-risk account review and documentation.

     EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:  These specifications are general guidelines based on the minimum experience normally considered essential to the satisfactory performance of this position.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required to perform the position satisfactorily.  Individual abilities may result in some deviation from these guidelines.

    ·        High School Diploma or equivalent. College Degree in accounting, finance, or related field, or equivalent combination of experience and education preferred.

    ·        The position requires a broad knowledge of general banking roles, functions, and systems in addition to a comprehensive understanding of regulatory requirements.

    ·        This position requires a self-motivated individual who possess operational/research experience, Bank Secrecy Act knowledge and the ability to identify patterns, recognize incidents outside the pattern and ensure compliance with FFCU policies, programs, and procedures.

    ·        Strong interpersonal skills required to represent the credit union professionally and positively and to interact effectively with members, staff, and management.

    ·        Must possess time management, organizational and analytical skills; must be able to coordinate a variety of projects and pay close attention to detail.

    ·        Ability to originate ideas in a fast-paced environment with multiple short-term deadlines.

    ·        Ability to work independently and as a team player.
