Job Description

JOB DUTIES:

• Helps drive new account growth via prospecting, sourcing, and account penetration
• Present customers with creative cost-effective transportation solutions
• Build and maintain customer relationships by providing superior customer service
• Be available and accountable to customers, both internal and external
• Establish and maintain carrier relationships
• Drives profit (margin) through effective negotiation with customers and carriers
• Effectively utilize TMS system to place orders
• Coordinate and track freight movements
• Manages and maintains own book of business
• All other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

• 2+ years experience in transportation, logistics, supply chain or related field
• Bachelor’s Degree in supply chain, transportation, logistics, business or related field preferred
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel and Word
• Effective communication skills, written and oral
• Attention to detail and organizational skills
• Decision-making skills
• Problem-solving skills
• Strong sense of time organization and urgency
• Experience in agriculture, live plants, food distribution, or temperature control industry is a plus
• An Understanding of DOT regulations preferred
• Ability to work independently and in a team setting

PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT & REQUIREMENTS:

• Climate controlled office or home office environment
• Continuously requires vision, hearing, twisting, and talking
• Frequently requires sitting, standing, fine dexterity, and handling
• Occasionally requires walking, climbing stairs, lifting (up to 20lbs), carrying, reaching, kneeling, pushing/pulling, bending, and crouching
• Rarely requires climbing
