Our client is looking for a technical writer who will author documentation relating to robotics operations in a laboratory environment. The ideal candidate is technically competent and understands complex systems. A technical degree is preferred, but not required. 

THE TECHNICAL WRITER WILL:

• Author new technical documentation that relates to robotics operations within a laboratory environment
• Edit existing documents as necessary
• Maintain control of all forms of documentation across the robotics organization
• Develop a documentation numbering and classification system to be adopted across the organization
• Work with engineers/lab techs to verify procedures as described in documentation
• Work with researchers to edit technical publications for industry submissions
• Create documentation templates for SOPs, maintenance manuals, test set ups, safety and other documentation deemed necessary

QUALIFICATIONS

• Proficient in describing technical concepts, procedures and systems in writing along with diagrams (submitting a writing sample is highly encouraged) 
• Can be an editor for other writers' work 
• Must be able to easily understand complex systems
• Proficient in reading computer command systems (Unix/Linux) 
• Proficient in basic computer language syntax including Python
• Basic understanding of computer markdown language 
• Bachelor's degree preferred
