FRONT-END ENGINEER (BOX)

The Box Team is one of the core member-facing teams that serves nearly two million subscribers each season. The team owns the applications that run Customize, a limited time experience for all customers to choose items in their upcoming box, and its related customer- and internal-facing services. Having recently rebuilt many of our key experiences in React and Java from scratch to support our explosive growth, the Box Team is looking for you to help us innovate and deliver exciting new features to our customers. 

Some new features on the horizon include leveraging novel machine learning model output to create rich personalization experiences and revamping our subscription architecture to increase monetization and enable A/B testing in our onboarding funnel to optimize retention. You will primarily be responsible for developing front-end features with the guidance of more senior engineers and for actively participating in team discussions (and biweekly happy hours!).

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

• Build, write automated tests for, and maintain consumer-facing features using front-end technologies
• Work closely with everyone on the team (including but not limited to Back-End Engineers, Product Manager, Technical Project Manager, Designer, QA Analyst) in an agile environment
• Provide thoughtful code reviews for peers
• Understand and write performant vanilla javascript
• Manage feature flag and application deployments

WHAT YOU'LL BRING:

2-3 years of professional experience, including:

• JavaScript (React)

• Java (Dropwizard or Spring)

• PHP

• Database: MySQL or Postgres

• Must be an independent, self-starter

• Must work well on a team

• Must be comfortable working in a face-paced environment
