We are seeking a skilled Prep Cook to join our team at Seville, a vibrant Mediterranean-themed restaurant known for its exceptional flavors and fresh ingredients. As a Prep Cook, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our kitchen by efficiently preparing and organizing ingredients for our menu offerings.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare a variety of ingredients such as vegetables, meats, grains, and spices, adhering to established recipes and quality standards.
• Assist in the creation of menu items by chopping, slicing, dicing, marinating, and seasoning ingredients as required.
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including proper storage and labeling of ingredients to facilitate the cooking process.
• Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely completion of food preparation for both regular service and special events.
• Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines to ensure the safety and quality of all prepared ingredients.
• Assist in monitoring inventory levels of ingredients and communicate shortages to the kitchen manager or supervisor.
• Contribute to maintaining a positive and collaborative kitchen environment by working well with fellow team members.
• Occasionally assist in plating dishes and other tasks as directed by the culinary team.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Prep Cook in a busy kitchen or culinary environment, preferably with knowledge of Mediterranean cuisine.
• Familiarity with proper food handling and safety procedures, including HACCP guidelines.
• Ability to multitask efficiently and work well under pressure, maintaining attention to detail during fast-paced shifts.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
• Culinary training or education is a plus, but not required.
