POSITION SUMMARY-The Fabrication Supervisor is the on-floor leader of our metal fabrication department. You will own daily production execution, team performance, and adherence to new standards in safety, quality, and efficiency. This is a hands-on leadership role—you’ll be in the shop, not the office—ensuring every job leaves your area on time, to spec, and with zero rework.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Execute Leadership Directives: Follow all instructions from Plant Manager and leadership on time—no exceptions. Escalate obstacles immediately, never ignore.
Drive Daily Production:
Schedule and sequence brake presses, lasers, spot welders, and bending operations
Hit daily output targets for Job Travelers and work orders
Minimize setup time and material waste
Lead the Team (8–12 fabricators):
Assign tasks, monitor performance, coach in real time
Enforce safety, PPE, and 6S standards
Cross-train team members to reduce bottlenecks
Own Quality & Efficiency:
First-piece inspection on every new setup
Track scrap, rework, and downtime—report root causes daily
Support unattended laser runs after hours (when approved)
Support Continuous Improvement:
Participate in ERP data entry and process mapping
Identify and propose equipment upgrades (e.g., brake press, turret)
Champion new workflows—past practices are obsolete
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
5+ years in metal fabrication supervision (brake press, laser, welding)
Proven ability to read blueprints, program CNC lasers/brakes, and set up tooling
Experience with ERP systems (Fulcrum, Epicor, or similar)
Strong team leadership—can coach, correct, and motivate without drama
Zero tolerance for shortcuts—you follow the process, every time
