    JOB SUMMARY: 

    Face to Face Health and Counseling is a non-profit organization dedicated to meeting the needs of youth ages 11–24. We offer health care, counseling, and programs for homeless youth. Founded in 1972, Face to Face serves more than 3,000 youth annually. 

    The Development and Communications Specialist is responsible for two areas: the agency’s donor database (Little Green Light) and its communication strategy. Communication includes web and email content creation, and social media management. This position is integral to the success of the Development Department.

    It is a part-time position at 20 hours a week.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Record, process and acknowledge gifts, including in-kind
    • Create and manage communication plan for agency (collateral development, annual fund, social media, Constant Contact)
    • Manage WordPress website
    • Create and post daily on social media platforms
    • Create monthly internal and external newsletter
    • Design on-line and printed collateral using Canva
    • Conduct database analysis to grow and retain donors and improve data integrity
    • Work closely with accounting to reconcile fundraising and accounting data
    • Respond to donor inquiries, providing excellent customer service
    • Assist with planning and implementing fundraising events
    • Perform other administrative tasks related to development and communications based on needs of the organization and the successful candidate’s interests, aptitudes, and experience
    • Contribute to building a system of donor stewardship and creating a culture of philanthropy
    • Provides all services guided by the evidence-based principles for helping youth overcome homelessness
    • Perform other duties as assigned

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • At least two years of experience with data management; previous experience with Little Green Light or other donor database management preferred
    • At least two years of experience in communication management 
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Strong computer skills including demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office Word and Excel
    • Strong customer service focus
    • Ability to comfortably adjust from working independently to a team-based environment at times
    • Strong organizational skills
    • Ability to maintain composure under pressure
    • Ability to work under deadlines
    • High degree of integrity, ethical decision making and sound judgment; able to honor confidentiality of information
    • Demonstrated ability to work and communicate effectively with people of diverse ethnic, economic, racial and cultural backgrounds.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS:

    • Ability to perform the duties outlined in the job description
    • Ability to perform duties and responsibilities typical of an office environment
    • Ability to work at a desk for several hours at a time
    • Ability to lift up to 10 lbs
