Position Summary
The Facilities Custodial Technician is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and overall appearance of a multi-building office complex, including interior spaces and surrounding outdoor areas. This role is part of a dedicated four-person cleaning team that ensures a consistently high standard of cleanliness and presentation across two buildings and adjacent grounds. The position plays a key role in creating a professional, welcoming, and well-maintained environment for employees and visitors. The ideal candidate takes pride in their work, is detail-oriented, and can work both independently and collaboratively as part of a larger team.
Key Responsibilities
General Cleaning and Janitorial Services
- Perform daily cleaning of offices, common areas, restrooms, break areas,
- sound stages, and meeting spaces.
- Sweep, mop, vacuum, and sanitize floors and surfaces.
- Dust furniture, fixtures, vents, and high-touch areas.
- Empty trash receptacles and ensure proper disposal.
- Replenish supplies such as soap, paper products, etc.
Restroom and Break Area Maintenance
- Clean and sanitize thoroughly including sinks, toilets, mirrors, and floors.
- Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen/break areas.
- Monitor supply levels and report restocking needs.
Outdoor and Grounds Cleaning
- Maintain cleanliness of building entrances, walkways, and outdoor common areas.
- Remove litter and debris from parking lots, sidewalks, and landscaped areas.
- Support seasonal needs such as leaf removal and light weather-related cleanup.
Team Coordination and Coverage
- Work collaboratively with the cleaning team to ensure all work areas are covered efficiently.
- Rotate responsibilities as needed to support workload balance.
- Communicate with leader regarding priorities, issues, and special requests.
Safety and Compliance
- Follow all safety procedures and proper use of cleaning materials and equipment.
- Maintain proper storage and labeling of cleaning supplies.
- Report maintenance issues, safety hazards, or damage observed during cleaning.
Quality and Presentation
- Ensure all areas meet or exceed established cleanliness and presentation
- standards.
- Conduct routine walk-throughs to identify areas needing attention.
- Take pride in delivering a consistently high-quality work environment.
Qualifications
Required
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior experience in janitorial, custodial, or facilities cleaning roles
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness standards
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 30 pounds for extended periods
- Reliable attendance and punctuality
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
Preferred
- Experience cleaning commercial office buildings or multi-site facilities
- Familiarity with cleaning equipment
- Basic knowledge of cleaning chemicals and safety procedures
