    Job Description

    The Facilities Engineer will ensure the safety, reliability, and efficiency of the overall site and manufacturing facility and its infrastructure by overseeing facilities related maintenance and upgrades in coordination with Engineering and Maintenance staff as well as outside contractors. Key duties include maintaining facility infrastructure, coordinating preventive maintenance for utility services, managing budgets for repairs and upgrades, and ensuring compliance with safety and industrial regulations. This role also involves providing direction and guidance for a third-party facilities staff, handling emergency responses, and contributing to facility planning and improvement initiatives.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Maintenance and Operations: * Develop, implement, and manage preventive maintenance programs for all facility systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and fire protection systems. * Monitor and inspect building systems and equipment to ensure optimal performance, efficiency, and compliance with all applicable codes and regulations. * Troubleshoot and resolve facility-related issues, responding promptly to emergency situations involving infrastructure failures.
    • Project Management: * Lead the design, implementation, and management of facility upgrades, renovations, and new construction projects. * Create project plans, specifications, and cost estimates for projects, managing budgets and timelines to ensure successful completion. * Coordinate with external contractors, vendors, and service providers for specialized tasks and project execution.
    • Compliance and Safety: * Ensure all facility operations and modifications adhere to health, safety, environmental, and building codes and regulations. * Conduct regular facility inspections and audits to identify potential safety hazards and implement corrective actions. * Provide guidance and training to maintenance staff and other personnel on safety procedures.
    • Budgeting and Reporting: * Develop and manage budgets for facility maintenance and capital improvement projects. * Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, facility modifications, and operational performance metrics. * Prepare detailed reports on facility operations, project status, and energy usage for management review.
    • Sustainability and Efficiency: * Implement energy-saving initiatives and sustainability programs to reduce operational costs and environmental impact. * Monitor and analyze energy and water usage to identify trends and drive efficiency improvements.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    Required:

    • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, Electrical, Civil Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field.
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in facilities engineering or management.
    • Strong understanding of building systems, including HVAC, electrical, and plumbing.
    • Demonstrated experience in project management, including budget oversight and stakeholder communication.
    • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills with a strong attention to detail.
    • Familiarity with industry safety standards, building codes, and regulations.

    Preferred:

    • Professional Engineer (PE) license or other relevant professional certification (e.g. CFM, IFMA, LEED).
    • Experience with Building Management Systems (BMS) and Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
    • Experience with security and maintenance of large facilities.
    • Proficiency with CAD software and facilities design principles.
    • Experience in a HVAC manufacturing environment.

    Physical Requirements

    • Ability to stand, walk, climb ladders, and lift heavy loads (up to 50 lbs.).
    • Capability to work in various environments, including mechanical rooms, confined spaces, and outdoors.
    • Availability to respond to on-call and after-hours emergencies as needed.
