Position Overview: Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Facilities & Maintenance Lead Technician to take ownership of preventive maintenance programs and facility reliability at our manufacturing site. This role will lead the scheduled maintenance of coating equipment and coordinate service activities for critical facility infrastructure such as HVAC systems, generators, compressors, chillers, nitrogen generators, RO water systems, and process support equipment. The ideal candidate will balance hands-on technical work with planning, scheduling, and vendor management to ensure smooth and efficient plant operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Facility Systems Oversight
Coordinate and perform maintenance on plant utilities, including:
Air compressors & distribution systems.
Nitrogen (N₂) generators.
RO water systems.
Chillers and cooling systems.
HVAC units and air handling equipment.
Wash lines, sandblasting, and auxiliary process equipment.
Ensure reliability of equipment through inspections, monitoring, and corrective action.
Vendor & Contractor Management
Serve as the primary point of contact for external service providers.
Schedule and oversee contractor activities for high-value assets (HVAC, generators, chillers, etc.).
Review and verify contractor work for quality, compliance, and cost effectiveness.
Continuous Improvement & Safety
Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability and reduce downtime.
Support root cause analysis for recurring equipment failures.
Maintain compliance with safety, environmental, and facility policies.
Train and guide junior maintenance staff as needed.
Assembly of Vacuum Coating Equipment:
Read and interpret electrical schematics, air schematics, build diagrams, and assembly instructions accurately.
Handle and prepare vacuum mating surfaces and flanges, ensuring correct installation and surface preparation.
Read vacuum gauges and apply basic principles of vacuum operation.
Perform delicate assembly tasks involving high-precision sensor circuits and vacuum systems.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
Associate degree or higher in Industrial Maintenance or equivalent.
Technical Skills:
Extensive knowledge of Electrical Systems, Mechanical Systems, Building Maintenance, Plumbing and HVAC Systems.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical diagrams.
Knowledge of OSHA regulations, lockout/tagout, fire safety systems.
Ability to plan and execute maintenance plans and upkeep to avoid equipment failure.
Soft Skills:
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective interaction with vendors and team members.
Excellent problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.
Strong customer service orientation with the ability to build and maintain client relationships.
Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and prioritize tasks effectively.
Preferred Skills:
Welding/Fabrication.
Building automation systems (BAS).
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment and parts (up to 50 lbs.).
