    Facilities Maintenance Technician - Education Facilities - Base Salary to 29.00/hour - Minneapolis, MN

    • Our client is a prestigious educational campus with a strong reputation for academic excellence. They are seeking a dedicated Facilities Maintenance Technician to join their esteemed staff.
    • The Facilities Maintenance Technician will be responsible for maintaining campus buildings, grounds, equipment, and systems; managing work orders; coordinating student workers and outsourced staff; and ensuring compliance with safety and licensing requirements—all to support the smooth and secure operation of the campus.

    Responsibilities:

    • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on buildings, grounds, and equipment, ensuring safe and economical operation.
    • Operate and maintain the college plumbing system.
    • Assist with and perform carpentry-related work throughout the campus.
    • Maintain lock systems to ensure the security of all buildings and rooms on campus.
    • Maintain and service all campus vehicles.
    • Manage the work order system, including assigning tasks to student workers and facilities staff, prioritizing, analyzing, completing, and processing work orders in communication with requestors or affected individuals.
    • Coordinate daily work direction for student workers and the outsourced cleaning team.
    • Comply with Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) regulations and departmental safety policies; participate in mandatory training, testing, and certification.
    • Obtain and maintain a MN special engineer boiler license within 6 months, and a MN 2C boiler license within 1.5 years.
    • Perform other duties as assigned to support the smooth functioning of the department and uphold the organization’s reputation.

    Qualifications:

    • Experience in general building repairs, including electrical, plumbing, painting, drywall, carpentry, and locksets
    • Ability to work with electrical systems, including 208 3-phase or higher
    • Basic knowledge of HazMat safety procedures, disposal practices, and recordkeeping

    Compensation:

    • Base salary to 29.00/hour
