The Facilities Manager provides stewardship and care for all Mercy Church facilities so that every space is safe, functional, and welcoming for ministry. This role focuses on the day-to-day execution of facility operations, maintenance, and event support. The Facilities Manager works closely with the Director of Operations to carry out maintenance plans, manage vendors, coordinate facility use, and support long-term facility planning.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience; degree/experience in Facilities Management, Engineering, Property Management, or related field is helpful but not required.
3–5+ years of hands-on experience in facilities management, building maintenance, operations, or project coordination—preferably in a multi-building campus or large facility.
Working knowledge of building systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, fire/life safety, security, grounds, etc.).
Capacity to work flexible hours, including nights or weekends for events or facility emergencies
Ability to lead, train, and support staff and volunteers
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee daily operations, maintenance, cleaning, safety, and facility readiness across all Mercy Church buildings and grounds
Ensure buildings, grounds, and mechanical systems are well maintained, functional, and compliant with safety codes and regulations
Execute preventative maintenance plans; schedule inspections and routine servicing; track warranties and service contracts
Coordinate facility usage and event logistics, including room setups, tear-downs, custodial scheduling, and day-to-day facility support
Manage building supplies and inventories, ensuring spaces are properly stocked within budget guidelines
Manage vendor relationships: obtain bids, schedule and supervise work, and ensure quality, safety, and cost stewardship
Monitor and support campus safety and security, including lighting, parking lot safety, emergency response, and after-hours issues
Train, supervise, and coordinate future facilities staff and volunteer teams
Maintain strong working relationships with ministry, hospitality, production, and administrative teams to support weekly ministry needs
