    Job Description

    The Facilities Services Manager plays a critical role in ensuring the safe, efficient, and cost-effective operation of a multi-state facilities portfolio. This position is responsible for receiving, prioritizing, and assigning maintenance work orders to internal technicians and external vendors. The role requires strong coordination, communication, and operational oversight to align facilities services with organizational goals and service standards.

    Key Responsibilities

    Operations & Dispatch

    • Receive, prioritize, and dispatch maintenance work orders based on urgency, location, technician availability, and business priorities.
    • Route and coordinate internal maintenance technicians to ensure timely and effective service delivery.
    • Assign and manage external vendors when required to meet operational demands.

    Stakeholder & Cross-Functional Coordination

    • Partner with internal departments to ensure smooth operations and prompt completion of maintenance requests.

    • Serve as the primary point of contact for maintenance-related inquiries, providing timely updates to internal stakeholders.

    Budget & Cost Management

    • Reinforce best practices and standards to ensure cost-effective repairs and maintenance activities.

    • Monitor inventory, materials, tools, equipment, and vehicle-related expenses.

    • Review credit card usage and expenses to ensure compliance with company policies.

    Vendor & Performance Management

    • Monitor and evaluate external vendor performance to ensure service quality, responsiveness, and compliance with standards.

    • Contribute to performance evaluation of internal maintenance staff through oversight of work quality and expense management.

    Reporting & Documentation

    • Maintain accurate records of service requests, work orders, and maintenance activities in the company’s maintenance management system.

    • Generate and analyze reports on maintenance activities, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement using key performance indicators.

    Customer Service & Emergency Response

    • Address and resolve service inquiries or complaints promptly and professionally.
    • Coordinate and support emergency maintenance responses as needed.

    Compliance & Safety

    • Ensure all maintenance activities comply with company policies, safety regulations, and applicable industry standards.

    Fleet & Vehicle Oversight

    • Manage and track service and maintenance requirements for technician vehicles to ensure reliability and readiness.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    Education

    High school diploma or equivalent required. Additional technical or vocational training is a plus.

    Experience

    Minimum of 2 years of experience in maintenance coordination, facilities management, project management, or related field.

    Skills & Competencies

    • Strong organizational, prioritization, and multitasking skills.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
    • Proficiency with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and related tools.
    • Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage emergency situations.
    • Solid understanding of maintenance procedures, equipment, and facilities of operations.

    Driving Requirements

    Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and ability to operate a company vehicle.

    Working Conditions

    Office-based with regular site visits. Full-time w/ potential after-hours emergency engagement.

    Additional Information

    Compensation

    Base Pay Range : $85,000 - $90,000

    Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of our total awards approach to compensation which is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses or incentives.

Public Storage teammates are expected to work in the office five days each week with the option to take up to three flexible remote days per month.
