The Role We’re looking for a Facilities Technician who will be the go-to expert for all gym equipment maintenance and repairs across our studios, while also lending a hand with general handyman projects. This role is ideal for a proactive, problem-solving professional who thrives in a fast-paced, on-the-go environment and takes pride in keeping equipment and facilities in top condition for our members and teams.
Key Responsibilities Equipment Oversight & Maintenance
Lead all preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs for fitness equipment (treadmills, rowers, bikes, striders).
Maintain a regular inspection schedule to ensure 95%+ equipment uptime.
Coordinate warranty repairs and vendor support when needed.
Handyman & General Maintenance
Perform in-studio repairs, including basic carpentry, tile, drywall, flooring, painting, and fixture adjustments.
Diagnose and repair minor electrical, plumbing, and HVAC issues; escalate to vendors when specialized work is required.
Complete monthly facility inspections to identify any building or equipment needs.
Work Order & Vendor Coordination
Manage and update all maintenance records in FEXA, our work order management system.
Partner with outside contractors for large-scale or specialized repairs.
Collaborate with studio teams to schedule repairs and confirm work completion.
Emergency Response
Respond to emergency repair requests same-day to minimize downtime.
Participate in the on-call rotation, including evenings, weekends, and occasional overnight work.
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent required.
5+ years of general maintenance experience, preferably with exposure to electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
1–3 years of experience repairing and maintaining machinery or electronics, ideally fitness equipment.
Strong troubleshooting skills and mechanical aptitude.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
Strong communication and customer service skills.
Ability to lift and move equipment over 100 lbs. and work in a physically demanding environment.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation; this role is 100% travel between studios in DC and VA. 11 locations total,
Must be willing to work on-call and outside regular business hours.
