About the Role We are looking for a skilled Facilities Operations Technician to join our campus facilities team. In this hands-on role, you will perform a wide range of maintenance, repair, and event support tasks that keep our facilities safe, functional, and running smoothly. This is an execution-focused position within a structured, work-order-driven operation that values consistency, safety, and quality craftsmanship.
What You'll Do
Perform electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and general building repairs within approved scope.
Complete carpentry, drywall, painting, and surface restoration work.
Install and maintain door hardware, locks, panic devices, and access control components.
Assist with HVAC troubleshooting and life-safety system support.
Support event setup and breakdown stages, tents, pipe and drape, tables, and chairs.
Complete assigned work orders accurately and on time, maintaining detailed documentation.
What We're Looking For
2–3 years of hands-on facilities maintenance or skilled trade experience in a commercial or institutional setting.
Working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and carpentry repairs.
Experience with door hardware, locks, or access control systems a plus.
High school diploma or GED required; vocational or trade training preferred.
Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety.
Preferred Certifications & Experience The following are not required but will strengthen your application and reflect the technical foundation we are looking for as we build a proactive maintenance program:
EPA Section 608 Universal Certification
OSHA 10 General Industry Certification
Building Operator Certification (BOC) Level I
HVAC Excellence or NATE Certification
Experience using a CMMS or work order management system
Compensation & Benefits
$24.00 - $29.00 per hour, based on experience and certifications
Full-time, 40 hours per week
