The Facilities Technician will work under the direct supervision of the Facilities and Safety Manager, alongside the Facilities Lead and in harmony with other staff members and ministry team leaders in fulfilling the church’s purpose and vision to “Connect people with God and others!” This critical role serves Summit Church by executing and assisting with various improvement, repair, and maintenance projects and maintaining day-to-day operations. This is a full-time position. Standard days and hours of work are generally Monday through Thursday, 8:30 am – 5:00 pm & Sunday, 8:00 am - 3:00 pm. However, the position requires overnight on-call duty and the ability to work during nonstandard hours when the need arises, including several weekends. Responsibilities: • All work is documented in the work order system • Ensures the Summit Church facility is always in excellent condition and day-to-day operations are running smoothly by performing the following under the supervision of the Manager and alongside the Lead • All work must be performed to the standard of excellence set by the Manager • Will prioritize work orders when working independently • Will provide project support as requested by the lead or manager • Will assist with the inspection, diagnosis, and repair of facilities-related systems Including but not limited to: • Plumbing and sewage • Grounds keeping (irrigation, plants, maintenance, etc.) • Supplies distribution and inventory management • Set/Up and tear down of ministry functions/activities and events • Preventive maintenance and repairs on all major and minor systems on the property • Minor construction/building projects • Repair and maintenance of company vehicles • HVAC/Chiller yard • Flooring, Walls, furniture, etc. • Fire Protection and Safety Equipment • Some shifts are covered without additional team members present • Will work closely with the Lead to cross-train in various new tasks • Light cleaning of the facility as needed Qualifications: • Must have 1-2 years of maintenance or janitorial experience • High school diploma or GED diploma • Must pass a background check • Customer/Client Focus • Analytical Skills Required: must look at a lot of different information and prioritize tasks based on time constraints and order of importance while following a schedule • Communication Skills Required: must be able to clearly explain in layman’s terms, both verbally, in writing, and via email • Time Management Skills Required: Prioritizing tasks when working independently, but always adhering to the cleaning schedule set by the manager • Must be able to work independently with little or no supervision • Must have the aptitude to learn a windows based computer environment, to communicate professionally via email • Ability to multitask under time constraints Compensation: $17 hourly
