A Facility Billing Manager oversees a healthcare or service facility's entire billing process, including managing staff, ensuring accurate claim submissions, optimizing cash flow, and handling patient accounts. This role requires strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills to maintain accurate records, ensure compliance with regulations, and drive the financial health of the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Staff Management: Supervise, train, and lead billing department staff.
Process Oversight: Ensure the efficient, accurate, and timely execution of the billing cycle, from charge entry, claim submission, invoice generation, and timely delivery of facility monthly invoices.
Financial Analysis: Prepare financial reports, and tracking accounts. The Facility Billing Manager should also be responsible for reviewing pre-billing patient utilization for any discrepancies. This would involve analyzing monthly invoice trends and reviewing facility audits to ensure there are no take-backs by the facility to ensure accuracy, optimize company cash flow, and prevent revenue loss.
Compliance: Stay updated on and enforce state and federal regulations, as well as departmental protocols.
Patient Relations: Negotiate payment options and discuss financial matters with patients.
Coding and Records: Oversee the accurate coding of patient demographics and completeness of billing insurance information.
Discrepancy Resolution: Resolve billing discrepancies and optimize billing procedures for better efficiency.
Communication Skills:
Excellent communication skills for interacting with staff, patients, and insurance companies.
Schedule: Monday to Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm with the extended hours during the month end period.
