SHOW UP STRONG. KEEP THE CAMPUS ALIVE.

This is a roll-up-your-sleeves, get-it-done kind of job. You will set up before the day starts, keep things running safely and smoothly while it's happening, and break it all down at the end. You love kids, you have the energy to keep up with them, and you take real pride in a clean, organized, ready-to-go campus. If that sounds like your kind of day keep reading.

    ABOUT CREATIVE STEAM ACADEMY

Creative STEAM Academy is a progressive K–8 private homeschool learning center in Laguna Hills, CA, built on the belief that learning should be hands-on, human, and joyful. We serve a diverse student population in a small, tight-knit community where every student is known by name and every staff member plays a meaningful role in the culture we build together.

    THE ROLE

The Facility & Campus Assistant is the backbone of our daily campus operations. You are the first one setting up in the morning and the last one making sure everything is put away, cleaned up, and ready for tomorrow. You are physically capable, dependable, and genuinely great with kids. You can move a basketball hoop, set up a goggle ball pit, stock a classroom, write up an incident report, and still stop to help a student who needs a moment — all before lunch. This is not a glamorous job. It is an essential one.

    WHAT YOU'LL ACTUALLY DO

    Morning Setup:

Arrive early and prepare the campus for the day — classrooms, outdoor areas, activity stations, and common spaces

Set up playground equipment, sports gear, goggle ball pits, and activity materials

Ensure all spaces are clean, organized, safe, and ready before students arrive

Support teachers with classroom setup and project rotation materials

    During the School Day:

Supervise and actively engage with students during recess and lunch

Be a strong, consistent, and caring presence but firm when needed, warm always

Support teachers in classrooms and during project rotations as needed

Assist with student transitions between activities and spaces

Complete OWI forms and incident reports accurately and promptly when needed

Handle minor first aid situations calmly and according to school protocols

Monitor campus safety and flag any concerns to staff or leadership immediately

    Afternoon Breakdown:

Break down and properly store all playground equipment and activity materials

Empty trash, clean common areas, and ensure the entire campus is left tidy

Do a full walkthrough to confirm everything is put away, locked up, and ready for the next day

Support teachers with end of day classroom cleanup and material storage

    WHO YOU ARE

You have real experience working with children in a camp, after school program, YMCA, school, or similar setting

You are physically strong, active, and comfortable with hands-on labor throughout the day

You can lift up to 50 pounds and move equipment, furniture, and supplies without hesitation

You are dependable — when you say you will be there, you are there, on time and ready

You are great with kids — you know how to engage them, redirect them, and hold the line when you need to

You are calm under pressure and don't rattle easily — kids, messes, and unexpected situations are all in a day's work

You take pride in a clean, organized, well-run space

You are a strong team player who communicates well with teachers and staff

You are comfortable completing basic paperwork including incident reports and OWI forms

First Aid / CPR certification is preferred or you are willing to obtain it upon hiring

Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds

    WHY YOU'LL LOVE THIS JOB

A part-time schedule that works — Mon, Tue, Thu & Fri with morning and afternoon shifts

A small, warm, community-driven campus where you are genuinely valued

Real variety no two days are the same and the work keeps you moving

A great fit for someone with a background in camp, after school programs, youth sports, the YMCA, or child development

The chance to be a meaningful part of students' daily lives — every single day

Room to grow with an expanding organization that promotes from within

This job is physical, unpredictable, occasionally messy, and genuinely rewarding. We are looking for someone who takes pride in the work, loves being around kids, and wants to be part of something that matters. If that is you — we would love to hear from you.
