  • Responsibilities

    Job Description

    What you will do:

    • Lead facility space planning, master planning, and utilization analysis for the ~1 million sq. ft. manufacturing site.
    • Design and oversee facility layout modifications, expansions, reconfigurations, and relocations to improve efficiency, safety, and scalability.
    • Manage space utilization metrics, occupancy planning, and reporting; collaborate with production, engineering, and leadership teams on long-range facility requirements.
    • Support equipment moves, new line installations, and process changes with detailed floor plans, load assessments, and utility coordination.
    • Oversee maintenance and reliability of facility infrastructure, including HVAC, compressed air, plumbing, fire protection, lighting, roofing, and grounds.
    • Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, building codes, fire safety standards (NFPA), and all local, state, and federal regulations.
    • Troubleshoot facility systems issues, coordinate with contractors and vendors, and lead repair or upgrade projects.
    • Support energy management, sustainability initiatives, and waste reduction efforts.
    • Prepare budgets, cost analyses, and reports for facility projects, capital expenditures, and operational improvements.
    • Participate in safety audits, risk assessments, and continuous improvement (Lean/Six Sigma) projects.
    • Coordinate with cross-functional teams (Production, Maintenance, EHS, Engineering) during planned shutdowns, expansions, or equipment installations.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    Required experience

    • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Facilities Engineering, or a related field.
    • 3 years of experience in facility engineering or industrial engineering within a manufacturing environment.
    • Strong knowledge of facility layout design, space planning, and workflow optimization tools (e.g., AutoCAD or similar).
    • Proven project management skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
    • Familiarity with safety regulations, building codes, and maintenance best practices.
    • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

    _ Preferred_

    • Industrial Engineering degree or background strongly preferred, with expertise in lean manufacturing, facility optimization, and space utilization.
    • Professional certifications (e.g., PE, Certified Facility Manager, or Lean/Six Sigma Green/Black Belt).
