    SUMMARY

    Work as part of a team of Process and Structural engineers to develop industrial plant layouts. Responsible for developing REVIT models of greenfield and existing processing plants for project development. This position will responsible for the accuracy and thoroughness of the final construction documents and BIM model. This position is also responsible for the evaluation of building leaks, identifying structural issues, Existing plant surveys, repairing, replacing or designing building cladding or roofing systems, thermal analysis and performing air and water leak testing on existing buildings and design of the building envelope in new construction projects.

    Develop scope of work and details for structural and architectural components of complex structures and buildings; develop and prepare construction documents for assigned projects; evaluate existing buildings for structural and architectural conformance to current building codes and requirements of the food processing industry.

    Provide CSA design, work with team to develop BIM/Revit models of existing structures. and be responsible for the accuracy and thoroughness of the final construction documents. Work hand in had with process engineering experts to

    Provide structural and architectural evaluations and provide written reports of existing buildings and structures; design, detail, and specify architectural components to achieve complete thermal and moisture barriers. This position will also design and specify doors, hardware schedules and frame details;

    Review and approve construction shop drawings and product Submittals for conformance to construction documents; perform construction site visits and provide written reports of construction progress and deficiencies; s

    REQUIREMENTS:

    Education: Accredited Bachelor's degree in Engineering/Architecture

    Experience:

    Minimum 5 years’ experience in building enclosure design, review and assessments

    Minimum 5 years’ experience in building enclosure restoration and consulting involving managing bulk water, water vapor transmission, air leakage, and thermal transmission.

    Expertise in building enclosure systems, including one or more of the following: roofing, wall claddings, glazed assemblies, waterproofing, hygrothermal modeling, and building enclosure diagnostic testing. Must have a working knowledge of basic structural systems.

    Computer Skills: Knowledge and use of computer programs, spreadsheet, database and scheduling programs; Microsoft exposure preferred; proficient AutoCAD and/or Revit knowledge and experience.

    Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

    Special Skills:

    Proficient technical knowledge and experience with low temperature, food processing, and industrial building design and detailing, including experience detailing insulated metal panels.

    Experience in the detailing of structural components and buildings with multiple building materials such as cast in place concrete, masonry, wood, hot rolled steel and cold formed steel; knowledge and understanding of building codes use and occupancy classifications, ADA requirements, and egress requirements in terms of limiting areas, rated separations.

    Certifications: Relating to building inspection and investigation or ability to obtain multiple certifications including but not limited to: RCI Roofing/Building Envelope (FRC, RBEC), and Infrared Thermography.

    Travel: Extensive travel may be required – at least 12 domestic trips per year.

    Although the work is performed within an office environment, there are occasional site visits that require ladder, stair and scaffold climbing in manufacturing and/or process structures as high as 150 ft tall. Must be able to respond to both audible and visible plant alarms. Must be able to tolerate seasonal extremes in temperature or humidity on site visits. May occasionally require working near hazardous equipment and machinery and exposure to noise, dust, gas or fumes during site visits; must wear PPE, including fall protection harness at times and these items, along with routine safety training will be provided.
