    Position Agreement: Stormwater Mowing Crew Leader

    Primary Function

    The Stormwater Mowing Crew Leader is responsible for supervising and leading a year-round landscaping crew engaged in stormwater control measure (SCM) grounds maintenance. This role involves hands-on landscape maintenance tasks, coordination of equipment and materials, adherence to safety protocols, and effective communication with team members, clients, and management.

    Major Responsibilities:

    Complete Monthly/Quarterly SCM mowings routinely to meet SCM Compliance

    · Assist in obtaining necessary materials and equipment for projects.

    · Work under the supervision of Service Manager and Associate Project Manager to complete tasks efficiently.

    · Check the company calendar daily and update as needed.

    · Ensure that all aspects of SCM compliance mowings have been completed.

    · Effectively document dates/times of scheduled compliance mowings

    · Assist in Preventative Maintenance and CRS activities when needed.

    Communicate effectively with Service Manager, team members, and clients.

    · Keep Service Manager updated on equipment needs and personnel concerns.

    · Respond to company emails, texts, and calls promptly during working hours.

    · Utilize time app for daily clock-ins.

    · Complete self-check ins and HR tasks within deadlines.

    Learn and adhere to FLPM and BLC Safety Protocols and Education Requirements

    · Obtain Stormwater Control Measure (SCM) Inspection and Maintenance Professional certification and obtain NC Pesticide applicators license.

    · Attend company-led training sessions annually.

    · Grow skills as a FLPM Team member.

    · Familiarize with vehicle maintenance system and HR software.

    Equipment and Vehicle Maintenance

    · Learn and maintain proficiency in basic equipment maintenance.

    · Ensure implementation of safety measures and equipment.

    · Keep equipment clean and in good working order.

    · Keep the truck organized, clean, and properly stocked.

    · Communicate scheduled maintenance needs with Operations Manager when necessary.

    Skills and Qualifications:

    · Preferred education/experience in construction, landscaping, excavation, environmental, water resources, pond management, or stormwater SCM maintenance.

    · Experience operating Ventrac mowers, walk-behind decks, mini-excavators, skid steer equipment, loading, and hauling trailers preferred.

    · Positive attitude, professional behavior, and willingness to undertake necessary tasks.

    · Valid driver’s license required.

    · Bilingual in English/Spanish is preferred.

    · Organized, results-oriented, and detail-oriented.

    · Must pass a criminal background check.

    · Ability to work effectively in teams, self-starting, with minimal supervision.

    · Effective written and verbal communication skills.

    · Basic computer skills for communication, documentation, and research.

    · Physically capable of working alone, lifting, and carrying up to 80 pounds, and working in various weather conditions.

    · Familiarity with maintaining and operating mowing equipment, chainsaws, pumps, and small equipment.

    · Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.

    · Ability to work on steep slopes and willingness to engage in occasional overnight travel.

    Salary Range

    · $22 - $25 per hour

    Qualifications:

    1

    1. Master's Degree in English with preference for majors in rhetoric/composition and two years of teaching experience, (preferably college).
    2. Demonstrated excellence in communication and presentation skills, both oral and written, which transcend diverse audiences.
    3. Successful teaching experience and commitment to working with a diverse population of students and staff, preferred ELL experience.
    4. A passion for continuous learning and a dedication to support student success through the mission of the College.
    5. The ability to facilitate varied teaching methods (i.e. lecture, class discussion, testing, presentations) to enhance student learning and completion. Experience in using OER's (open, educational resources) preferred.
    6. Willingness to teach during the day, at night, hybrid, and online, as well as at the main campus and extension centers. Experience with Learning Management System like Blackboard Ultra.
    7. Experience in educational theory and techniques, teaching, experience at the post-secondary level preferred.
    8. Participation in professional and community organizations.
    9. Detail-oriented, well-organized, and able to interact effectively with college staff at all levels and handle confidential information appropriately.
    10. Demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations representing a wide range of abilities, ages, nationalities, and cultures.
    11. Highly motivated and solution oriented with a high degree of integrity, ethics and dedication to the mission of the College

    Essential Functions:

    1. Teach assigned course load which may include day, night, hybrid, and online courses, as well as at the main campus and extension centers. Classes are to meet on time for the full allotted time.

    2. Establish and promote an effective learning environment that maximize documented student learning.

    3. Participate in professional development activities and maintain current knowledge in the discipline.

    4. Prepare, submit and maintain reports related to student learning.

    5. Develop or assist in development of curriculum including review or revision to keep programs on the cutting edge.

    6. Grade assignments in a meaningful way to promote continued student growth, return graded assignments to students in a timely manner; and assign final grades for all students, meeting or exceeding all institutional deadlines for completion. Use an LMS to submit grades.

    7. Provide educational assistance to students during regularly scheduled and posted times (i.e., office hours) or by appointment

    8. Ensure student opinion surveys are conducted for each class and then reviewed after summary information is available to assist with increasing student success.

    9. Participate in the instructor evaluation process which assesses the following: * Content Expertise * Instructional Delivery * Instructional Design * Course Management * Special assignment work in which release time is being given * Non-teaching duties including, but not limited to:
