Job Description

Clean all common areas within the community, such as the lobby, hallways, offices, public restrooms, dining room, library, activity room and employee break room.

Maintain & complete all designated items on the cleaning schedule & adhere to policies & procedures.

Ensure housekeeping & sanitation procedures set by Local, State, & Federal Regulations are adhered to.

Basic Duties -

• Regular, punctual attendance.
• Empty all garbage cans every morning.
• “Deep” clean assigned rooms on daily basis. (See room cleaning form)
• Maintain a sanitary work area.
• Practice good infection control such as proper hand washing to avoid cross contamination from soiled to clean linens.
• Sweep, mop, dust, and sanitize assigned rooms.
• Maintain patient bathrooms as assigned.
• Keep chemicals and solutions secured and out of residents’ reach.
• Vacuum carpets and clean floors as needed.
• Pick up litter on facility property.
• Check and clean equipment as directed.
• Monitor supplies and report as needed.
• Report equipment problems as needed.
• Any other tasks as directed by the supervisor.

Qualifications

Janitorial, grounds experience and basic maintenance experience.

Class C license with good driving record

Physical, Mental and Sensory Requirements -

Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, squat, reach above the head to clean as needed, load linen carts and reach supplies. Push and pull cleaning carts. Lift or move wet and dry linen, containers of laundry products and janitorial supplies.
