Fairfax Veterinary Hospital is a progressive veterinary establishment located in quaint Fairfax City, Va. We are a new hospital looking for a veterinary assistant and receptionist to complement our current health care team. We are committed to high quality medicine using integrative therapies and fear free techniques. Receptionist responsibilities include, but are not limited to: -Must be people oriented, friendly, and have excellent communication skills -Must be comfortable with client contact through all forms of technology: phone, email, text, app, etc. -Data entry and filing -Must be comfortable around all breeds of dogs and cats, and willing and able to assist the health care team -Able to multi-task, work independently, and work as a team

Veterinary Assistant responsibilities include, but are not limited to: -Must be people oriented, friendly, and have excellent communication skills -Must be comfortable with client contact through all forms of technology: phone, email, text, app, etc. -Data entry and filing -Must be comfortable around all breeds of dogs and cats, and willing and able to assist the health care team -Able to multi-task, work independently, and work as a team -Be comfortable interacting with clients, taking histories, relaying instructions from doctors to clients, making notes and phone calls. -Accurately perform lab tests. Be involved in sample collection and processing, taking x-rays, maintaining patient and hospital cleanliness

Qualifications/Requirements: -Must be 18 years of age or older -Must be able to stand, walk, or work in a bent position for extended periods of time -Must be able to lift/carry an animal up to 50# -May be exposed to unpleasant odors, noises. May be exposed to bites, scratches, contagious diseases -Previous experience is desired -Resume and a minimum of 3 references required
