  • Responsibilities

    Fairfield Property Management is seeking a Lead Maintenance Technician for one of our apartment communities in Shreveport, LA. The Lead Maintenance Technician is responsible for providing prompt and courteous responses to service requests and ensuring that all property facilities and apartment units are maintained to Fairfield Property Managements standards.

    Responsibilities:

    Serves as liaison when necessary between maintenance personnel and Property Manager

    Responsible for general maintenance of the community including the upkeep of all mechanical equipment, resident service requests, plan and oversee all make readies, perform preventative maintenance, and maintain the grounds, buildings and common areas

    Troubleshoot and perform all necessary repairs to the apartment community, including plumbing, HVAC, carpentry and electrical. Installation of new appliances as needed

    Ensure resident requested service orders are completed on a timely basis

    Prepares apartments for housing annual inspection

    Perform on-call emergency service as required

    Comply with all Fair Housing and OSHA regulations and health, safety and environmental laws

    Ensure safe work practices are followed by all maintenance staff at all times

    Maintains familiarity with Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) book; knows location and how to use.

    Qualifications:

    High school diploma or GED required

    1+ year of professional maintenance experience required

    HVAC certification required, EPA 608 certification preferred

    Property Management experience preferred

    Ability to communicate effectively and professionally, both verbally and in writing

    Ability to work in a professional, courteous, cooperative, tactful, and patient manner with residents, FPM employees, vendors, suppliers, and members of the public

    Good time management skills. Ability to multitask, prioritize and flexibility to adjust work priorities as necessary

    Self-motivated with the ability to work independently with little guidance

    Wear/use uniforms and personal protective equipment (PPE) as required

    Ability to maintain reliable transportation, a current and valid drivers license, and vehicle insurance

    Ability to work on-call and respond promptly and appropriately to all calls
