  • Responsibilities

    The Social Media Specialist is responsible for social media monitoring on all platforms for Fairplex and the LA County Fair, as well as for the Sheraton Fairplex Hotel. The position will also be assisting with content creation, publishing and analytics as needed.

     

    Principal Duties and Responsibilities

    • Develop creative content and copy and publish content through various social media channels including Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram, Snapchat, Youtube and more.
    • Understands the LA County Fair brand and the Sheraton's brand, and becomes a brand champion for all events and campaigns.
    • Manage day-to-day interactions with online communities. Monitor comments and answer questions.
    • Monitor social media programs and compile campaign reports.
    • Leverage the right tools to manage your content
    • Update and manage content editorial calendar to manage content and plan specific, timely marketing campaigns
    • Promote content through social advertising
    • Participates in conference calls and meetings with clients and Marcom team
    • Assist with special projects in marketing as required
    • Other duties as required

    Required Skills

    Some college education required in the field of Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, Advertising, Journalism or a related field at an accredited college or university. Social Media experience required. Must be a self-starter and have excellent written and oral communication skills. Requires ability to coordinate several activities and projects simultaneously and be able to work effectively under pressure and deadlines.  Creative and analytical sills are essential. Must have experience with social media management applications such as Falcon or Sprout for example. Requires organizational skills and the ability to perform in a fast paced environment.

    Required Experience

    • Must be able to move around the ground
    • Must be able to climb stairs
    • Must be able to lift a minimum of 15 pounds
