  • Responsibilities

    JOB SUMMARY:

    • Provides quality patient care and assists the Physician/LPA/ARNP to facilitate medical care in an outpatient setting.
    • Performs primary patient duties including, but not limited to: preparation of patient medical records, completion of required forms, maintaining well stocked and organized exam rooms and offices, assisting the Physician/LPA/ARNP/ARNP with exams and procedures, prioritizing and responding to patient phone messages timely.
    • Facilitates communication to assure the continuum of care is maintained and assists patients with all aspects of care.
    • Performs certain nursing functions under the supervision of the Physician/LPA/ARNP.
    • Follows all applicable work flows established for Physician Services to promote efficient processes and delivery of quality patient care.
    • Performs all other duties as assigned within the scope of training
    • Complete protected health information access

     JOB SPECIFIC DUTIES:

    • Performs clinical and clerical duties in office according to scope of certification
    • Assists in the development, monitoring, data collection, and reporting of clinical performance improvement projects.
    • Completes all tests, workflows and performance improvement according to standards
    • Stores and maintains sample drug supplies according to the Medication Management Policy of Methodist Hospital.
    • All other duties as assigned

    Required Skills

    LICENSE/CERTIFICATION:    Certified/Registered Medical Assistant preferred

    EDUCATION: High school graduate or equivalent.

    EXPERIENCE: Prefer minimum 6-12 months physician or clinic office experience.

    Required Experience

    Customer service and quality skills.  Need to be able to work as a team member for multiple providers, answer phone calls, refill prescriptions, assist in procedures, call patients to exam rooms and take vitals.
