    Old Redford Academy is hiring a Varsity Cross Country Coach for the Fall 2026 season!

    Old Redford Academy is committed to providing a learning community where students thrive academically, socially, and emotionally while preparing for post secondary success. The academy is a tuition free, Pre-K to 12th grade academy that offers highly qualified teachers, free transportation, one-to-one student technology, an expansive athletic program, and a rigorous curriculum.

    Position Overview

    We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Varsity Cross Country Coach for the Fall 2026 season. As the head coach, you will be responsible for leading, developing, and inspiring our high school cross country team. Your leadership will play a critical role in promoting a positive athletic environment and fostering the growth and development of our student-athletes, both on and off the field.

    Key Responsibilities

    - Plan, organize, and oversee all aspects of the varsity cross country program, including training sessions, meets, and team-building activities.

    - Develop comprehensive training programs that cater to athletes of varying abilities and ensure their progression throughout the season.

    - Instill a culture of sportsmanship, teamwork, and discipline while emphasizing the importance of academic achievement and personal growth.

    - Evaluate individual athlete performance and provide constructive feedback and coaching to help them reach their potential.

    - Collaborate with school administration and athletic staff to coordinate logistics for practice sessions and competitions.

    - Ensure the safety and well-being of all athletes during training and competition, adhering to health and safety regulations.

    - Encourage community engagement and foster positive relationships with athletes' families, supporters, and stakeholders.

    - Oversee and manage team logistics, including travel arrangements, equipment inventory, and budget maintenance.

    - Maintain open and transparent communication with athletes, parents, and school officials regarding team needs, schedules, and other essential information.

    Qualifications

    - Proven experience in coaching cross country or related track and field sports at the high school or collegiate level.

    - Strong understanding of the principles and techniques of cross country running, conditioning, nutrition, and injury prevention.

    - Ability to motivate and inspire athletes to achieve their best while maintaining a positive and supportive team atmosphere.

    - Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.

    - Valid first aid and CPR certification is preferred.
