    Family Allergy & Asthma is looking to add a Biologics Billing System Specialist to the family! 

    WHAT ARE BIOLOGICS? _ Biologics are the specialty medications that are used for the treatment of Asthma, Urticaria (hives), Allergy and Immunodeficiencies.  Biological medications tend to be at the forefront of medical advances today. Gene-based and cellular biologics, for example, are now making it possible to treat some illnesses where no other treatments were available._

    We are looking for a strong communicator who is not only detail oriented, but who works well independently and on a team!

    The schedule for this position is primarily Monday - Friday, 8am-5pm at our Leesgate Rd. Location.

    SUMMARY OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Works closely with the Biologic Team Lead to help streamline the biologic process, billing, and collection.
    • Communicates with providers, nurses, managers, and patients to track Billing for the biologics process.
    • Communicates on the telephone professionally and pleasantly. Efficiently screens and directs calls and make appointments as necessary for the biologics process, if required
    • Runs reports to track biologics Billing and maintains integrity of patient billing records.
    • Collecting all necessary documentation to complete timely and accurate submission of prior authorizations for biologics, as necessary.
    • Interacts with clients, insurance companies, sales representatives, providers, and patients, as necessary.
    • Follow HIPAA policies, billing and follow up procedures.
    • Other relevant duties, as assigned.

    ABILITIES, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

    Effective communication skills to include:

    1. Ability to fluently speak and read English

    2. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, handbooks, policies, patient care plans and procedure manuals

    3. Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and written, with all levels of staff and patients

    Education, Prior Work Experience, Special Skill and Knowledge Requirements

    • High school diploma/ GED
    • Previous experience with Biologics/Prior Authorizations preferred
    • Previous medical office experience preferred
    • Knowledge of medical terminology
    • Ability to work independently
    • Proficient and accurate with word processing (Word), spreadsheets (Excel), charting, flowcharting, and computers in general
    • EMR experience preferred
    • Attention to detail is essential
    • Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously with accuracy and efficiency while maintaining composure.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Valid Driver's License required
    • Must be at least 18 years of age
