Our law group is growing, and we are looking for a sharp family attorney who will zealously represent clients in all areas of family law. You’ll assist individuals in a variety of situations, such as navigating prenuptial agreements and attending court hearings for divorce, alimony/spousal support, and child support. The prime candidate will have experience with a range of sensitive legal issues, such as child abuse, child custody, and domestic violence, and be able to maintain composure, negotiate, and argue effectively even in emotional and high-stress situations. If you are passionate about helping people navigate some of the most difficult challenges they may face in their lives, start your application today Responsibilities: • Help solve legal problems for clients through analyzing the situation, understanding their needs, and creating a strategic plan of action • Attend court proceedings as needed to represent clients • Prepare legal documents such as legal pleadings, motions, marital settlement agreements, contracts, judgments, and orders for a high volume of cases • Keep client files properly organized and up to date • Divide marital assets, including real estate, when necessary during divorce proceedings • Maintain accurate, well-organized client files and case records to ensure matters remain current, compliant, and court-ready • Advocate on behalf of clients by assessing legal and factual issues, understanding client objectives, and developing strategic plans of action tailored to each case • Manage the division of marital assets, including real property, and advise clients on financial and property-related issues arising in dissolution proceedings • Represent clients effectively at court hearings, conferences, and other proceedings, exercising sound judgment and professional advocacy • Draft and review pleadings, motions, marital settlement agreements, judgments, and court orders for a high-volume family law caseload Qualifications: • At least 1-2 years of working in a law firm on family law issues as well as real estate (determining marital property) is necessary • Extra consideration for those with a criminal justice background • Great negotiation and communication skills, particularly in stressful and emotional situations • Active membership with the ABA (American Bar Association) • Strong knowledge base of representing plaintiffs and defendants • Demonstrated experience advocating effectively for clients in family law matters, including both contested and negotiated proceedings • Prior legal experience in family law required; additional background in criminal justice or related legal practice areas is a plus • Minimum of 1–2 years of hands-on family law experience , including matters involving real property division • Excellent negotiation, oral advocacy, and written communication skills, particularly in high-conflict and emotionally charged situations • Active member in good standing with the State Bar of California • Licensed and authorized to practice law in the State of California • 3+ years of law firm experience in family law strongly preferred Compensation: $150,000 - $180,000 yearly DOE
