You didn't go to law school to run a small business. You went to help people and be in the courtroom. If you're a skilled family law attorney who's tired of chasing clients, managing overhead, and doing everything except practicing law, Diamond Legal was built for you. We are looking for a Senior Family Law Attorney to anchor our Lake County practice. Diamond Legal is an established local boutique family law firm with a real team, real infrastructure, and a real marketing engine behind you. You will be a valued member of a close-knit, high-performing team — not a solo operator flying without a net. We are looking for an experienced, courtroom-ready attorney who knows Lake County, knows the 19th Judicial Circuit, and is ready to stop running a business and start practicing law at the highest level. We handle the marketing. We handle billing and collections. You handle the law. You have a backup to take a real vacation. After your first 90 days, Diamond Legal offers a hybrid work-from-home schedule for attorneys who are hitting their KPIs. We believe in results over rigid schedules — if you are doing the work and serving clients at the highest level, we trust you to manage your time. Other Benefits: • Competitive base salary with a performance-based bonus structure that rewards high producers — total compensation for a strong performer can significantly exceed base salary • Referral bonus available for qualified client referrals • Employee-paid health insurance • Simple IRA with up to 3% employer match after a qualifying period • Bar dues reimbursement • CLE reimbursement Responsibilities: • Help clients navigate the most difficult transitions of their lives — this work is meaningful, and we take that seriously • Manage a focused caseload of family law matters — divorce, custody, support, and orders of protection — with full autonomy to pursue the best strategy for each client's goals • Appear regularly in Lake County 19th Judicial Circuit and McHenry County courts — your courtroom presence and ability to think on your feet are critical to your success here • Negotiate settlements and litigate contested matters with the full resources and support of an established firm behind you • Conduct initial client consultations — you are often the first point of legal contact (after screening) for families in crisis, and your ability to connect, listen, and instill confidence from day one is critical • Collaborate directly with Diamond Legal's senior attorneys and support staff — clear strategy and organization on every matter are essential Qualifications: • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school • Active Illinois bar license in good standing • 3–7 years of family law experience with regular courtroom appearances • Lake County 19th Judicial Circuit experience strongly preferred • You have courtroom presence and aren't intimidated by aggressive opposing counsel • You return phone calls. Every time • You genuinely care about clients going through the hardest moments of their lives • You work hard, play hard, and want to be part of a team that does the same • High ethical standards and genuine empathy for clients in difficult circumstances • You are ready to stop running a business and start building a legal career on your own terms Compensation: $150,000 - $180,000 yearly
