    Our growing law firm is looking to hire a family attorney who is fiercely passionate about representing clients facing one of the most challenging times in their lives. Candidates should be adept at preparing necessary legal documents in connection with prenuptial agreements, initiating and finalizing divorces, alimony, child support/child custody, and real estate. Experience in handling legal issues such as child abuse, child custody, and domestic violence is also a must. If you have a proven record of success both in and out of court, apply now! Responsibilities: • Assist clients effectively by understanding their needs analyzing the situation then strategizing and deciding on a proper course of action • Handle the division of marital assets, including real estate, during divorce proceedings as needed • Represent clients in court proceedings as needed • Keep client files properly organized and up to date • Work closely with paralegals and senior partners to ensure swift action through the civil litigation process • Keep client files properly organized and up to date • Draft pleadings, motions, contracts, marital settlement agreements, judgments, and orders for a high volume of cases • Divide marital assets, including real estate, when necessary during divorce proceedings • Help solve legal problems for clients through analyzing the situation, understanding their needs, and creating a strategic plan of action • Attend court proceedings as needed to represent clients Qualifications: • Must have worked on family law issues for at least 1-2 years; handling of real estate also required • Prior work or studies in criminal justice preferred • Active membership with the ABA (American Bar Association) • Great negotiation and communication skills, particularly in stressful and emotional situations • Proven record of success in advocating for plaintiffs and defendants • Great negotiation and communication skills, particularly in stressful and emotional situations • Experience at a legal firm working on family law and real estate issues (determining marital property) for at least 1-2 years is required • Previous criminal justice or other legal background preferred Compensation: $90,000 - $120,000 yearly
