Responsibilities: • Assist clients effectively by understanding their needs analyzing the situation then strategizing and deciding on a proper course of action • Handle the division of marital assets, including real estate, during divorce proceedings as needed • Represent clients in court proceedings as needed • Keep client files properly organized and up to date • Work closely with paralegals and senior partners to ensure swift action through the civil litigation process • Keep client files properly organized and up to date • Draft pleadings, motions, contracts, marital settlement agreements, judgments, and orders for a high volume of cases • Divide marital assets, including real estate, when necessary during divorce proceedings • Help solve legal problems for clients through analyzing the situation, understanding their needs, and creating a strategic plan of action • Attend court proceedings as needed to represent clients Qualifications: • Must have worked on family law issues for at least 1-2 years; handling of real estate also required • Prior work or studies in criminal justice preferred • Active membership with the ABA (American Bar Association) • Great negotiation and communication skills, particularly in stressful and emotional situations • Proven record of success in advocating for plaintiffs and defendants • Great negotiation and communication skills, particularly in stressful and emotional situations • Experience at a legal firm working on family law and real estate issues (determining marital property) for at least 1-2 years is required • Previous criminal justice or other legal background preferred Compensation: $90,000 - $120,000 yearly
