Responsibilities: • Litigate and resolve matters related to divorce and separation, covering areas such as property division, child custody, and spousal support • Maintain effective communication with clients and other relevant parties involved in legal proceedings • Negotiate agreements on behalf of clients, demonstrating strong client advocacy skills • Represent clients in courtroom proceedings, including interim hearings, mediations, depositions, and trials • Conduct comprehensive legal research using Westlaw and offer expert legal advice to clients • Draft a variety of legal documents, such as pleadings, briefs, and the occasional appeal Qualifications: • 1 - 5+ years of experience practicing family law • Membership and good standing with the Maine Bar (willing to consider the right out-of-state candidate) • Strong negotiation and mediation skills • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities • In-depth knowledge of family law regulations and procedures • Significant courtroom litigation experience • Client-centered approach, demonstrated through compassion, connection, and clear communication • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a dynamic legal team Compensation: $90,000 - $175,000
