Motherly Intercession is a nonprofit organization dedicated to strengthening families impacted by incarceration. Our programs support incarcerated parents, their children, and caregivers through parenting education, family engagement, and community-based support services.
We are seeking a Family & Community Outreach Coordinator who is passionate about helping families, connecting people to resources, and building relationships within the community.
This position works directly with incarcerated parents, caregivers, and children, helping them access services and participate in programs that strengthen families.
Note: This position is grant-funded through a partner agency and may be subject to annual funding decisions.
Key Responsibilities
Community Outreach & Recruitment
Recruit and engage participants for Motherly Intercession programs
Conduct outreach to incarcerated parents, caregivers, and community partners
Raise awareness of available programs and services
Client & Family Support
Provide support and resources to families impacted by incarceration
Assist participants with applications, referrals, and service connections
Help clients establish personal and family goals
Provide case support and referrals to community resources
Parenting Education Programs
Assist with or facilitate parenting education classes in the jail and community
Help coordinate weekly group sessions
Gather participant feedback through surveys and program evaluations
Program Coordination
Track program participation, attendance, and client data
Maintain confidential client records
Assist with reports and program documentation
Support agency goals and program development
Community Engagement
Represent Motherly Intercession at community meetings and events
Build relationships with partner agencies and organizations
Qualifications
Education
Bachelor’s degree preferred in social work, nonprofit management, education, or a related field
Equivalent experience in human services or community outreach will be considered
Experience
At least 1 year of experience in outreach, nonprofit work, or human services preferred
Experience working with families, children, or justice-involved populations is a plus
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to work with diverse populations and maintain confidentiality
Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office and data tracking systems
