We are seeking a motivated and empathetic Family Law Associate Attorney to join our growing practice. The ideal candidate combines strong legal skills with emotional intelligence, is comfortable managing sensitive family matters, and is committed to helping clients navigate challenging transitions with clarity and confidence. This role offers meaningful courtroom experience, mentorship, and the opportunity to make a lasting impact on clients’ lives.
Key Responsibilities
Represent clients in family law matters including divorce, child custody, child support, spousal maintenance, modifications, enforcement actions, and protective orders
Manage cases from intake through resolution, including litigation and settlement
Conduct client consultations, assess legal issues, and develop case strategies
Draft and file pleadings, motions, discovery, and settlement agreements
Perform legal research and factual investigation to support case preparation
Negotiate settlements and parenting plans in contested and uncontested matters
Advocate for clients at hearings, mediations, pre-trial conferences, and trials
Prepare clients and witnesses for testimony and court appearances
Maintain consistent, compassionate communication with clients and manage expectations
Collaborate with case managers and other attorneys to ensure efficient case management
Qualifications
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
Licensed and in good standing in MO (TX, KS, IL a plus)
1–3 years of experience in family law or related civil litigation
Strong litigation, negotiation, and courtroom advocacy skills
Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
High emotional intelligence and professionalism in sensitive situations
Ability to manage a high-volume caseload independently
Commitment to ethical practice and client-focused representation
