Ideal candidates will have 5 or more years of experience as lawyers in family law and can demonstrate the ability to learn quickly. We are looking for a team player who can take ownership of a client's case. You will assist individuals in a variety of situations such as consulting with clients, having direct contact with opposing counsel, drafting pleadings, conducting discovery, handling mediations, conferences, pretrial hearings and trials. The prime candidate will have experience with a range of sensitive legal issues and be able to maintain composure, negotiate, and argue effectively even in emotional and high-stress situations. You need to have strong skills in the following areas: research, writing, courtroom presentation, and common technology. Even better if you know how to use Clio and Mac. Responsibilities: • Help solve legal problems for clients through analyzing the situation, understanding their needs, and creating a strategic plan of action • Represent clients in court proceedings as needed • Manage the division of marital assets, including real estate, during divorce proceedings when needed • Create legal documents such as pleadings, motions, marital settlement agreements, contracts, judgements and orders for a high volume of cases Qualifications: • Great negotiation and communication skills, particularly in stressful and emotional situations • Experience at a legal firm working on family law and real estate issues (determining marital property) for at least 3-5 years is required • Valid California Bar license Compensation: $100,000 - $175,000 yearly
