Our growing law firm is looking to hire a family attorney who is fiercely passionate about representing clients facing one of the most challenging times in their lives. Candidates should be adept at preparing necessary legal documents in connection with prenuptial agreements, initiating and finalizing divorces, alimony, child support/child custody, and real estate. Responsibilities: • Work closely with paralegals and senior partners to ensure swift action through the civil litigation process • Help solve legal problems for clients through analyzing the situation, understanding their needs, and creating a strategic plan of action • Manage the division of marital assets, including real estate, during divorce proceedings when needed • Organize and maintain client files to ensure they are kept current • Attend court proceedings as needed to represent clients Qualifications: • Undergraduate degree with a legal background and Juris Doctor degree required • Candidates should be great negotiators and communicators, specifically in situations when emotions and stress are high • Active membership with the ABA (American Bar Association) • Ability to successfully represent both plaintiff and defendant sides of a case • Must have worked on family law issues for at least 1-2 years; handling of real estate also required Hard-working TEAM player responsible for all aspects of a client's case, including communicating with clients and other counsel, drafting pleadings, conducting discovery, preparing for and attending court hearings, settlement conferences, performing legal research, and preparing for and attending trialsDVRO & Trial Experience RequiredKnowledge of CA Discovery RequiredA California Bar License in good standing is requiredHigh levels of self-esteem, empathy, and compassionAbility to put clients at easeUnderstanding how clients’ problems are more than legal problems to themExceptional communication skillsProficient in Microsoft OfficeExtremely comfortable with technology (and realizes that smartphones might be smarter than us) Compensation: $100,000 - $180,000 yearly
