Responsibilities: • Assist clients effectively by understanding their needs analyzing the situation then strategizing and deciding on a proper course of action • Communicate with senior partners and paralegals to effectively move through the civil litigation process • Attend court proceedings as needed to represent clients • Keep client files properly organized and up to date • Prepare legal documents such as legal pleadings, motions, marital settlement agreements, contracts, judgments, and orders for a high volume of cases Develop case strategies, provide leadership, and guide paralegals and legal assistantsHandle full caseloads independently, from case inception to resolutionConduct in-depth legal research and prepare memos on complex case issuesAppear in court for various family law proceedings, representing clients in high-stakes situationsPrepare clients for trials, advocate on their behalf, and work with experts when necessaryOversee the division of marital assets and negotiate settlements in divorce casesMaintain organized client files, ensuring documentation accuracy and timelinessCultivate relationships with clients, providing clear communication and emotional support through challenging situations Qualifications: • Active member of the ABA (American Bar Association) • Candidates should be great negotiators and communicators, specifically in situations when emotions and stress are high • Undergraduate degree with a legal background and Juris Doctor degree required Who We’re Looking For: Experience: Minimum of 6 years in Family Law litigation and courtroom advocacy (required) Licenses: Licensed to practice in Maryland and the District of Columbia Skill Set: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strategic problem-solving, and attention to detail Mindset: A compassionate and resilient advocate with experience navigating high-stress, emotional cases with a client-focused approach Technical Proficiency: Skilled in analyzing and summarizing legal documents with strong attention to detail Team-Focused: Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a supportive team environment Preferred Qualifications: Estate Planning experience Proven success in advocating for both plaintiffs and defendants Strong negotiation skills, especially under stressful conditions Compensation: $125,000 - $130,000 yearly
