Our growing law firm is looking to hire a family attorney who is fiercely passionate about representing clients facing one of the most challenging times in their lives. Candidates should be adept at preparing necessary legal documents in connection with prenuptial agreements, initiating and finalizing divorces, alimony, child support/child custody, and real estate. Experience in handling legal issues such as child abuse, child custody, and domestic violence is also a must. If you have a proven record of success both in and out of court, apply now! Responsibilities: • Keep client files properly organized and up to date • Represent clients in court proceedings as needed • Manage the division of marital assets, including real estate, during divorce proceedings when needed • Collaborate with senior partners and paralegals to effectively move files through the civil litigation process • Create legal documents such as pleadings, motions, marital settlement agreements, contracts, judgements and orders for a high volume of cases • Lead your own caseload and develop creative, strategic approaches for every client • Represent clients confidently in contested family law matters (hearings, mediation, trial) • Help families find resolutions through negotiation, not just litigation • Apply deep knowledge of the Texas Family Code and TRCP • Counsel clients with clarity, compassion, and pragmatism • Be part of a team that believes in winning together and growing every day Qualifications: • Member in good standing and actively involved with the ABA (American Bar Association) • 4-year degree with a legal background and J.D. degree are necessary for this position • Previous criminal justice or other legal background preferred • Strong knowledge base of representing plaintiffs and defendants • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, especially in highly stressful and emotional situations • 3+ years of experience handling contested family law cases • Active Texas State Bar License • Strong negotiation and communication skills • Alignment with our core values: • Teamwork • Excellence • Integrity • Service Compensation: $85,000+ to start depending on experience plus bonus
