Our growing legal firm is looking for an efficient, organized legal assistant to help our attorneys and paralegals assist clients and ensure we’re operating efficiently. You’ll assist with the preparation of legal documents, filing documents online or in person, office correspondence, arranging meetings and travel, remind clients of court dates, reminding the team of upcoming deadlines, calmly talk with clients about their cases, keep calendar up to date with court dates and deadlines, keep the attorney on track, communicate with courts for scheduling or to obtain information, communicate with other law offices, process incoming documents from other law offices and courts, ensure status of cases and stages are updated regularly, and contact with vendors as needed. Responsibilities: • Assist with the creation of various litigation documents, including pleadings, motions, subpoenas, affidavits, contracts, and briefs for case preparation, and proofread documents a needed • Be willing to take on any other necessary administrative tasks to help the firm run smoothly • Preparation of routine legal documents • Filing documents online or in person • Preparing and mailing office correspondence, including certified mail and FedEx • Arranging meetings and travel, • Keep the calendar up to date with court dates and deadlines, and remind the team of upcoming deadlines • Remind clients of court dates and calmly talk with clients about their cases • Keep the attorney on track • Communicate with courts and other law offices for scheduling or to obtain information • Assist in gathering information and documents from clients • Manage email inbox, triage, and assign as needed to appropriate team member, or respond as needed • Process incoming documents from other law offices and courts • Ensure the status of cases and stages are updated regularly • Contact with vendors as needed Qualifications: • Candidates should be able to type at least 50 words per minute • Applicants must have excellent communication skills and organizational skills • Ability to comfortably use all Microsoft Office products • Experience with legal software, litigation case management, and docketing programs • Must be able to prioritize tasks with demanding deadlines and work in a fast-paced environment • Candidates should have superb proofreading skills • Exceptional attention to detail • Ability to work in-person at our Brunswick location, 2888 Nationwide Parkway, Ste. 214 • Comfortable with learning new technology and programs • Completed DISC assessment Compensation: $17 - $24 hourly
