Responsibilities: Client Service and Communication • Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, communicating with professionalism, clarity, and genuine empathy • Attend client meetings with attorneys and independently manage routine client interactions • Help clients navigate legal processes and feel heard throughout their matter Case and Calendar Management • Manage attorney calendars, including court dates, hearings, mediations, client appointments, and discovery deadlines • Monitor court hearing calendars to confirm that hearings are properly noted and that conflicts are identified • Maintain organized, current electronic matter files from opening through closing Document Drafting and Review • Draft pleadings, motions, standardized dissolution forms, court orders, and client correspondence • Prepare mediation materials, trial exhibits, and trial binders • Manage client financial documentation relevant to the matter strategy Court and Filing Operations • E-file documents in King, Snohomish, Pierce, and other Washington counties as required • Handle scanning, document organization, and general maintenance of digital case records Team and Firm Participation • Meet a billable hours expectation • Contribute to a collaborative, values-driven team culture • Participate in training and knowledge-sharing activities as the firm builds out its operational infrastructure Qualifications: • Lives in the Spokane area • Minimum three years of experience as a paralegal in Washington State family law • Working knowledge of court rules and procedures in Spokane County. King, Snohomish, and Pierce counties area plus. • Proficiency with e-filing and e-service in Washington courts • Strong written communication skills and attention to detail • Interpersonal skills and a genuine desire to help clients through difficult circumstances • Technology comfort across the firm’s standard platform • Sense of humor — family law is hard, and a good team makes a real difference Compensation: $24 - $38 hourly
