Now, as we expand our family law division, we're looking for a sharp, compassionate Intake/Legal Assistant to grow with us. In this role, you'll be the first point of contact for new clients and a key support to our attorneys throughout each case. You'll guide prospective clients through the intake process, manage case timelines, draft documents, conduct legal research, and serve as the organizational backbone of our family law caseload. You'll keep cases moving forward and make sure nothing falls through the cracks. This is a hybrid role requiring both in-office and remote availability; candidates must be comfortable and self-sufficient in both settings. Responsibilities: • Serve as the first point of contact for prospective clients, conducting intake calls with warmth and professionalism, gathering initial information, and ensuring a smooth onboarding experience • Communicate with clients, courts, and other parties to provide case updates, answer basic non-legal questions, and liaise with courts and administrative agencies on scheduling and procedural matters • Monitor case progress, manage attorney calendars, deadlines, and key benchmarks, and proactively resolve scheduling conflicts to keep matters on track • Maintain and update case management, CRM, and document systems, prepare legal correspondence and forms, manage discovery materials, and accurately record all billable and non-billable time • Assist attorneys in preparing for hearings, court appearances, and trials, and manage client files from opening to close in accordance with firm policy Qualifications: • Demonstrated mastery of family law processes, procedures, and terminology, with the ability to contribute at a high level from day one, is critical Applicants without such Family Law experience clearly outlined in their resume will not be considered • Comfortable navigating legal software, CRM platforms, and case management systems, with a solid understanding of how tools and integrations work together • Self-directed and proactive, able to identify what needs to be done and act without waiting to be asked • Adaptable and open to growth, willing to learn new processes, take on feedback, and evolve with the firm as it expands • A true team player who takes pride in the quality of their work and the way they show up for people, knowing that how you do something matters just as much as what you do Compensation: $26.50 - $31 hourly
