Responsibilities: • Hold client interviews to gather information about their legal problems • Arrange law office activity such as drafting subpoenas and coordinating with process servers • Prepare legal documents, correspondence, and pleadings such as complaints, interrogatories, subpoenas, deposition notices, pretrial orders, legal briefs, and affidavits, under the supervision of a lawyer • Organize our case filing systems to ensure all documents are properly sorted and easy to locate, and other administrative duties as needed • Help lawyers prepare for trial by preparing and organizing exhibits, assisting with client meetings, filing motions, conducting research on legal articles, and organizing and coordinating witnesses • Assist lawyers in preparing legal documentation, pleadings, and correspondence, including subpoenas, deposition notices, complaints, and legal briefs • Support trial preparation by organizing exhibits, coordinating witnesses, and conducting legal research • Perform administrative duties, including answering phone calls and maintaining an organized case filing system • Conduct client interviews to gather information about legal matters • Assist attorneys with files • Communicate with clients on a consistent basis regarding updates and changes to their case. Qualifications: • Must have great time-management skills, and organizational skills • 3 years of experience in legal services under an attorney or lawyer in a law firm setting • Must have completed an ABA-approved paralegal certificate program such as an Associate’s degree or proprietary school program in paralegal studies, Bachelor’s degree desired • Candidates who have completed a paralegal professional certification or have advanced paralegal education will receive preference • Strong oral and written communication skills • 2+ years as a Family Law Paralegal in the state of Texas • Professional paralegal certification or advanced paralegal education • Clear, concise, and effective communication skills, as well as proficiency in writing and grammar • Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook), and familiarity with legal software • Strong organizational and time-management skills • Excellent interpersonal skills, as well as a positive attitude • Ability to reliably commute to Austin, TX 78746 Compensation: $25 - $30 hourly
