    Title: Experienced Family Law Paralegal — Independent, Detail-Oriented, Client-Focused Location: Wilmington, NC About Us: We are a busy, growing law firm seeking an experienced family law paralegal who takes pride in their work, owns their caseload, and thrives in a professional environment where initiative and independent judgment are valued. Position Summary: We are looking for a seasoned family law paralegal to manage legal matters from start to finish under attorney supervision, handle client communication confidently, and serve as a key support to our legal team. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, highly organized, adept at prioritizing work, and able to operate with minimal oversight. We handle a diverse caseload, and the successful candidate must be comfortable with client interaction, case management, drafting documents, and courtroom filings. Key Responsibilities: • Independently manage ongoing case files and deadlines • Prepare and draft legal pleadings, discovery, affidavits, motions, and correspondence • Conduct legal research and help prepare attorneys for hearings and trials • Communicate with clients professionally — in person and by phone/email • Schedule and coordinate client meetings, deposition notices, hearings, etc. • File documents with courts and ensure procedural compliance • Track case progress and update attorneys proactively • Maintain meticulous and organized case files Required Qualifications: • 3+ years of paralegal experience in family law (required) • Demonstrable ability to manage one's own cases independently • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills • Confidence in interacting and meeting with clients • Proficiency with legal case management software and MS Office Preferred Qualifications: • ABA-approved paralegal certificate or bachelor’s degree • Experience with civil litigation and court procedures What We Offer: • Competitive salary benefits package • Supportive professional environment • Opportunity for growth and leadership within the firm How to Apply: Please submit your resume with a cover letter describing your experience handling legal matters independently and examples of how you’ve led case management with minimal supervision. What steps did you take to stay organized and ahead of deadlines?” “What case management software are you proficient in, and how have you used it?” “Tell us how you prepare for client meetings and how you communicate difficult updates.” Responsibilities: • Draft legal documents, pleadings, and correspondence such as interrogatories, subpoenas, deposition notices, complaints, pretrial orders, legal briefs, and affidavits under the guidance of a lawyer • Organize our case filing systems to ensure all documents are properly sorted and easy to locate, and other administrative duties as needed • Aid lawyers in trial preparation by preparing and organizing exhibits, organizing and coordinating witnesses, conducting research on legal articles, and assisting with client meetings and filing motions • Gather information about legal issues from the client in interviews Qualifications: • 3 years of experience as a paralegal in family law Compensation: $65,000 depending on experience & certifications
